In 1994, the first CIRP International conference on Life Cycle Engineering took place at the Technical University of Denmark, Lynnby, Denmark. In the last 16 years, this conference has been able to provide a diverse forum for global researchers to discuss, exchange, develop, and incubate research ideas, and collaborative projects in the area of Life Cycle Engineering. Recent trends of development in this research area have demonstrated the large perspective of demanding on sustainability for product development and manufacturing, as well as utilization and recycling. The research of increase sustainability for total product life cycle has been as current research focus. In addition, energy issue has attracted much attention, as well natural resources conservation. The 17th CIRP international conference on Life Cycle Engineering will be hold at Hefei University of Technology, Hefei, Anhui, China, from May 19th-21th, 2010. The conference will be hosted by sustainable manufacturing group, Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineering, and partially sup-ported by China Natural Science Foundation, Division of Engineering and Material Science.
The theme of 17th CIRP International Conference on Life Cycle Engineering (LCE 2010) is "Fundamental Theories, Sustainable Manufacturing: Application Technologies and Future Development". The main purpose of this conference is to improve the academic communication of experts and the scholars all over the world in the field of sustainable design and manufacturing engineering, and exhibit to the participants the recent research focuses, the newest productions and the developing trend in this field. |
